Yeppoon is the major centre of the Capricorn Coast which houses a population of some 35,000 people. The second largest town on the coast is Emu Park being separated from Yeppoon by 18klms of sandy beaches and delightful scenic beauty.

The coastal scenery encompasses 30 off shore islands, the largest being Great Keppel Island with its seventeen beaches being unmatched for beauty or numbers by the other islands of the Queensland Coast.

Keppel Bay Marina with its 500 berths (the largest in Northern Qld) sits between the two coastal centres and is a haven for the Central Queensland boaties.

The Coast is well supported with commercial and educational facilities proving attractive to families. Yeppoon houses three secondary colleges, two of which accommodate boarders, and is only a 20 minute drive to the Central Queensland University located in Rockhampton.
